RDU (Remote Download Unit) is a device or system designed for remote downloading and management of data related to the operation of vehicles, in particular vans and trucks, as well as continuous monitoring.

The main purpose of the RDU:

Remote downloading of data from tachographs:

• Allows operators or fleet owners to download information from digital tachographs, such as speed, driving and rest time of drivers, without the need for physical access to the vehicle.

Reduction of administrative costs:

• Automatic data transfer simplifies the process of monitoring compliance with regulations on driving and rest time of drivers.

• In Europe and many other regions, legislation requires regular downloading of data from tachographs for their storage and analysis for compliance with regulations.
