Board game Chinese Checkers

This game is on a par with such well-known traditional abstract games as Checkers, Backgammon and Chess. It may be known to you as Halma or Corners. The main feature of Chinese drafts is the six-pointed star field, as well as the fact that there can be two, three, or even six players!

At the beginning of the game, participants place their chips on the rays of a star (this area is also called a yard or a house). To win, chips must be transferred to the opposite house. If you are two, then there are several options for the game, for example, each player takes 3 sets of chips and controls them simultaneously. Or take only one set, then the game will be faster and easier. If you are six, then in any case you will take only one set of chips.

The rules of the game are extremely simple. On your turn, you can move one of your chips in two different ways: either simply move it to a neighboring empty cell, or jump over a nearby chip (including the opponent’s chip). In the latter case, according to the rules, you can make a series of jumps in a row. The goal of the game is to transfer all your chips to a new house faster than the opponent. Just like in the famous game Hare and Hedgehog, in Chinese drafts you need to combine tactics of quick jumps and short dashes. You can make several preparatory moves, and then transfer your chip through the entire field to the new house with one move.
