Predatory carnivorous houseplant flycatcher, Sarracenia Leucophylla
Sarracenia leucophylla is a rather unusual plant, even by Sarracenia standards! The most notable feature is that the top third or more of each pitcher is remarkably pigmented white. The white top is usually combined with green or red veining, creating a very nice overall effect. An old name you might come across is Sarracenia drummondii. Sarracenia leuphylla usually produces two “harvests” of pitchers. Jugs produced in the spring are often somewhat lanky and unimpressive. The second set of jugs, produced at the end of the summer, are much larger and more reliable.
Conditions of detention and care:
- Watering: frequent watering is recommended; sarracenia also likes to receive moisture from below, so the plant is placed in a tray with water; you should not keep the pot in a humid environment for a long time, so as not to provoke rotting of the roots; water only with settled water.
